Email groups are remarkably useful. Instead of sending a copy of an email to each individual recipient, you can effectively create a simple forum post that everyone can participate in\u2014a feature that certainly helps when collaboration is a priority. Let\u2019s go over how you can quickly and easily create a group in Gmail.<\/p>\n

Step 1: Access Google Apps and Select Contacts<\/h2>\n

That\u2019s right\u2014this process isn\u2019t even completed in Gmail. However, since you\u2019re likely in the Gmail app, click into the App Launcher icon<\/strong> (colloquially, and arguably more correctly, known as the \u201cwaffle\u201d icon) and access Google Contacts<\/strong>. A new window will open to the Google Contacts page.<\/p>\n

In this new window, you\u2019ll see the Google Contacts page, and if you click the three-bar menu<\/strong>, you\u2019ll see a selection of tools and options.<\/p>\n

Step 2: Create a Label<\/h2>\n

In these tools, you\u2019ll see a Label <\/strong>option, and underneath that, the option to Create Label<\/strong>. Give it a name you will remember it by, and click Save<\/strong>. You now have a label, and it\u2019s time to add some contacts to it.<\/p>\n

Step 3: Add Some Contacts<\/h2>\n

You\u2019ll see lists of your email contacts by selecting Frequently Contacted<\/strong> or Directory<\/strong>. Select whomever you want to include in a group, finally clicking the label icon<\/strong> at the top of the window. Confirm that the right label is selected, and select Apply<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That\u2019s it! Now, from Gmail, you can put the name you gave your label into the To field of any email you\u2019re writing to send it to that group.<\/p>\n
